Republican Party’s Election Lawsuit Targeting Military and Overseas Voters Dismissed by Court of Claims
LANSING – Yesterday, the Michigan Court of Claims granted Attorney General Dana Nessel’s motion to dismiss a lawsuit challenging the rights of military and overseas voters brought by the Michigan Republican Party, Republican National Committee (RNC), and Chesterfield Township Clerk Cindy Berry against Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Director of Elections Jonathan Brater. The Attorney General argued the Plaintiffs unreasonably delayed for years in challenging these longstanding laws and instructions, causing prejudice to both the Secretary of State and voters, and the Court agreed. 
The state and national Republican parties sought to disallow certain military and overseas voters’ absent voter ballots by challenging the Secretary’s instructions that explain how spouses or dependents of Michigan military or overseas voters can vote in the State’s elections. Ignoring a 1996 statute that expressly permits this practice, the Michigan Republican Party and Republican National Committee argued the Secretary’s instructions violate the Michigan Constitution. The Attorney General refuted this claim, and the Court also concluded the Secretary’s instruction was consistent with the statute. 
“This baseless lawsuit was a clear attempt to disenfranchise Michigan’s military and overseas voters,” Nessel said. “I am glad the Court saw through this meritless effort to suppress votes and undermine the integrity of our election system. American citizens, especially those defending our country and their families, have every right to cast a ballot and participate in our electoral process. I am proud to stand up for them and our democracy, and I will continue to defend the voting rights of the great people of this State. Military voters deserve our respect for their service, their families, and their votes — not to be treated like a political football by the Michigan Republican Party and the RNC.”

When the VoicePlay guys were touring regularly, they often included educational outreach at schools near their concert venues. So in the spring of 2019 they headed to central Pennsylvania for a workshop with the music students of Susquehanna Township High School, followed by an evening show at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center.
Unfortunately, the person who posted videos from the concert mostly recorded short clips instead of full songs, but you might still enjoy what is available.

Fharzai had requested this mission and to have it conducted on his own. It would take a delicate touch to sift through the minds of the survivors in a way that didn't retraumatize them. More importantly, he knew his dark reflection could be lurking in the nightmares of any one of the refugees. Some Agent of Minerva would only get themselves killed, which left Fharzai as the only one with the skills necessary to evaluate every Iskaran that reached Lysaran soil.
In Haven they would be held, tested, and hopefully healed until he was sure they were safe to begin integration. And so long as he could conduct his work here at the Standing Stones, Fharzai's energy would remain centered enough that he could extend his spirit endlessly. "I figured it wouldn't take long for you to be alerted of my arrival, though I doubt you needed to come receive me in person, Your Highness," he comments rather emotionless as he runs his hands over the runes of a particular stone. "Honestly, preparing your pack and township should be a higher priority. This will be Lysara's first diplomatic dealing with the people of Iskaldrik in decades. We cannot afford mishandlings." Fharzai had a number of concerns, most of which he didn't feel inclined to share. Saying too much could tip the scales unfavorably. Maintaining a level of balance through this transition would be incredibly difficult. "Their High King lives. You'll have to make sure you're prepared for him alone. Your ability to guide Haven through their arrival will set the tone for Lysara's future for at least the next century. Do you understand that, Queen Aurea?"
